Conditions and Treatment for Itching Conditions

Candida Overgrowth Causes Yeast Infections:

Candida, (formally referred to as Candida Albicans, also known as Thrush), is a yeast that occurs naturally in the human body. Normally it lives in harmony with a variety of other microorganisms and actually performs a couple important functions. The problem occurs when something upsets the balance of bacteria in the body and this allows the yeast organism to proliferate and take over all the healthy microorganisms. When this happens an overgrowth has occurred, usually in the intestinal tract, where the majority of bacteria inside your body thrives. It feeds on processed sugary snacks and those starchy snacks that produce yeast in the body. When the healthy population of the fungus Candida Albicans is disrupted, it multiplies quickly and spreads out to other areas, including the vaginal areas, intestinal tract, etc., which then causes a yeast infection. These infections can cause tremendous itching, making it a very uncomfortable problem, even painful in extreme cases.

Unfortunately, a good majority of our population has Candida and doesn't even know it. Due to the amount of processed sugars and other garbage put into junk food, and highly processed refined foods like white bread, colas, candy and so on, the contribution to the problem is inevitable. Unless you are very strict with your diet and you eat like a bunny rabbit - nothing processed whatsoever - you most likely have the yeast buildup in your body to some degree. This doesn't mean a person is sick, but the problem with Candida is that it can contribute to creating other illnesses.

If possible, try to refrain from taking antibiotics unless it's absolutely necessary. Healthier alternatives are always best if possible. If you must take an antibiotic for any reason, be sure to take a sufficient amount of acidophilus during the course of the treatment. This will help keep healthy bacteria present in your body. Taking acidophilus on a daily basis is one of the best defenses against yeast overgrowth and it promotes a healthy colon.

Healthy bacteria in your body, under normal conditions, can fight off pathogenic organisms such as Candida. But under certain conditions, such as a weak immune system, your body's ability to defend itself is compromised. This allows Candida spiral out of control and overtake your body. When women, in particular, experience yeast infections, doctors tend to treat it locally. The root may be Candida but is rarely addressed.

Candida may play a role in just about any health condition you can think of. From asthma to gastrointestinal disorders, it can affect the entire body. If you think you may have this condition, contact your doctor or health care professional. Tests can easily determine if you have this condition.

Candida can reside in nearly any part of the body, but commonly it is found in the intestinal tract, mouth, throat and genitals. In extreme cases, it can burrow holes in the intestinal tract, enter the blood stream, and enter nearly any organ of the body. It has been said that Candida can emit up to nearly 100 different toxins into the body. Some people may become allergic to the yeast itself.

Use of Vitamins and Supplements:

While it's very important to take supplements, these things alone cannot eliminate Candida. The biggest help? Diet.

Diet is Key:

The fastest and most effective way to begin reducing Candida symptoms is through a healthy diet. Cut out the obvious breads, processed sugars, heavy pastas, fried foods, etc., and focus on what we all know is good for us. Begin to incorporate as much raw vegetation, fruit and natural fiber into your diet. Stay off the colas and beer is a killer. Caught in early stages, it is easy to rid the body of Candida. It's up to you to help your body help itself.
